Random Garden musings...

Friday was quite soggy here - it was raining when I woke up, and pretty much carried on raining and stopping, and raining and stopping, all day. I did get my head outside a couple of times in the gaps though, and was really quite chuffed to see just how lovely our little pocket-handkerchief of garden is looking at the moment...

Remember the troughs and baskets we planted up in the spring? Well they're flowering away beautifully now and making a wonderful splash of colour both at the front and back...add to that the chives which have such pretty flowers!

Hmmm...there are issues with not labelling things, aren't there! Dill, we think...although I don't actually remember sowing any....

Coriander....or perhaps flat leaf parsley?

Ah! I know what these are - tomatoes, of course! Everything seems to be growing oh-so-slowly - need these little fellas to make a giant leap forwards so that we stand a chance of getting some fruit from them this year.

Now here you have one of the advantages to a rainy day - the fantastic pattern of raindrops on petals, and the light furring of moisture on stems and stalks.....

I love that last photo :)

Chive flowers are great and they stay around for quite a while.Next year I am going to sow a lot more of them amongst my flower beds as they are lovely to look at and easy to grow :)

That Geranium has been so pretty Dreamer - it's the third year we've had it and it just gets bigger and more gorgeous every year - the sparkling raindrops just enhanced the flowers even more!

I'm wishing now that I'd made some Chive Vinegar with some of my chive flowers - must remember that for next years!

My chive flowers are starting to die now, which is a shame as the whole garden is filled with them! I'm also quite encouraged by your tomatoes - I was worried about mine, but they're way bigger than yours ;) :D (sorry!)

(I've not managed to grow any new herbs mind you, and all my salads got eaten and nothing else is growing, so you're easily beating me there!)

ROFL - matey, EVERYONE'S tomatoes are bigger than mine - they're going nowhere fast! As for herbs, I'm in mourning - my 19p rescued Greek basil is dying. :-(
